Waste to energy plants are seen as green innovations for countries where landfills dominate, as they reduce methane and generate renewable energy. But will these incinerators really make our trash problems go up in flames? We're destroying our environment at an alarming rate. But it doesn't need to be this way. Our new channel Planet A explores the shift towards an eco-friendly world — and challenges our ideas about what dealing with climate change means. We look at the big and the small: What we can do and how the system needs to change. Every Friday we'll take a truly global look at how to get us out of this mess. #PlanetA #WasteToEnergy #Incineration Read More (Links): Open burning: 🤍 Waste around the world: 🤍 Waste to energy as a solution (IEA): 🤍 Waste to energy as a solution (Project Drawdown): 🤍 Waste management in India (Pritpal Randhawa): 🤍 Environmental impacts of waste to energy: 🤍 Waste to energy in Europe: 🤍 0:00 Intro 0:39 Why we need better waste management 2:00 Waste to energy 6:04 The Waste Hierarchy 6:51 A waste solution for the Global South? 6:47 Decentralization & Diversification 9:34 When incineration makes sense Reporter: Amanda Coulson-Drasner Video editor: Amanda Coulson-Drasner, Cem Springer Supervising editor: Kiyo Dörrer

Burning waste to make energy is a $10 billion industry in the U.S., and the fastest growing part of the business is waste from big companies like Amazon, Subaru, Quest Diagnostics and American Airlines. They’re part of a growing corporate movement toward “zero landfill” as pressure mounts to reach sustainability requirements. CNBC got an inside look at a waste-to-energy plant where trash is incinerated to power 18,000 homes in northern California. 00:00 Intro 1:48 The push for zero landfill 6:01 How energy recovery works 9:04 Emissions and toxic ash 12:19 Follow the money » Subscribe to CNBC: 🤍 » Subscribe to CNBC TV: 🤍 » Subscribe to CNBC Classic: 🤍 About CNBC: From 'Wall Street' to 'Main Street' to award winning original documentaries and Reality TV series, CNBC has you covered. New York City is one of the most wasteful cities in the world. But none of its trash is actually processed in NYC. It's sent to waste-to-energy facilities and landfills as far away as Ohio and South Carolina. It takes a vast network of sanitation workers, trucks, trains, cranes, and barges — and $429 million a year — to get it there. Landfills are responsible for the release of toxins and harmful substances into the atmosphere. More than half of the world's waste — 59% in fact — ends up in landfills. In the US, they are the third largest source of anthropogenic methane emissions, a gas 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Methane alone accounts for nearly 15% of the country's total emissions and is associated with air and water pollution, as well as biodiversity loss and land degradation. But this does not apply to Sweden. This is the only country in the world that recycles all its garbage and, in addition, buys it from other countries. The Swedes have learned to make big money out of garbage. So how do they turn trash into gold? We will talk about this in this video. They say that "It's not clean where they clean, but where they don't litter", but the Swedes managed to change it into “It’s clean where they repair, share, and recycle”. One percent of that is exactly how much garbage ends up in Swedish landfills. According to the AvFall Sverige Swedish Waste Management Association, Sweden now recycles more than 99% of household waste. #sweden #ecology #tehnology #waste #recycling If you are the author of the materials or the copyright owner of it, but your authorship was not indicated or you object to its use, please contact me: titosaleksyt🤍gmail.com Don’t miss next videos: Press the little bell ((🔔)) to get notifications Production Music courtesy of Epidemic Sound 🤍

Smokeless Waste incinerator for Garbage burning. Equipment for the treatment of household waste and plastic mixture. Small, capable of handling 1-1.5 tons / 24-hour capacity. Using cryogenic magnetic gas technology. No need to add fossil fuels. Incinerator design temperature 30-380 ℃. The chimney discharge temperature is 30-95 degrees Celsius. Design and operation principle: Evaporation, gasification, carbonization, carbon pyrolysis to form negative ion ash. Input a small amount of oxygen-enriched air. Discharge a small amount of steam. Steam needs 1.5KW power disinfection. Garbage reduction rate: 1Compact 200-500. There are no additional expenses. Fireprint incinerator energy saving OK, environmental protection OK. Equipment parameters are required. Login should choose a network to continue us. In 2010, engineer Mr. Shengran Li discovered a combination of strong magnets that can absorb oxygen molecules and form oxygen-enrichment ina static environment, becoming an energy-saving solution to replace fuel. Be a more environmentally friendly way to dispose of our country's waste. Technologies that have been constructed are often high in cost in terms of investment, operating expenses, and maintenance. High temperature garbage incinerator They frequently break down and often end up left idle and not operated. Fireprint became his baseline to create a machine that virtually left no carbon footprint behind Chinese patented technology. Waste-to-Energy is not your Grandfather’s incineration. These modern facilities divert waste from landfills and produce electricity and/or steam for export through the combustion of post-recycled, non-hazardous municipal solid waste ✓ Waste-to-Energy employs state-of-the-art pollution control equipment to scrub and filter emissions, protecting the environment ✓ Waste-to-Energy facilities are a widely recognized means for reducing greenhouse gases—particularly methane—by eliminating emissions from landfills ✓ Waste-to-Energy is a sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-fired energy and produce around-the-clock electricity for more than 1 million homes ✓ Waste-to-Energy facilities recycle more than 700,000 tons of metal annually – enough to build more than 580,000 cars
